幫助英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)者了解英國(guó)文化，探索當(dāng)代英語(yǔ)，提高英語(yǔ)能力的免費(fèi)在線公開(kāi)課，2015年6月22日再次開(kāi)放。

此公開(kāi)課適合正在學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)，并希望更深入了解英國(guó)文化，提高英語(yǔ)技能的人士。課程分為六個(gè)部分，涉獵六個(gè)主題，如：英語(yǔ)的全球化、環(huán)境保護(hù)、企業(yè)家精神和文學(xué)等。每部分大約需要學(xué)習(xí)兩小時(shí)，在課程開(kāi)放期間，隨時(shí)可以參與進(jìn)來(lái)。

我們?cè)诿坎糠值恼n程中，通過(guò)視頻短片，引入不同的話題。短片都在英國(guó)拍攝完成，可以有助于提高聽(tīng)力水平，因?yàn)槠腥宋锒紩?huì)用純正英語(yǔ)直接講述，對(duì)提高英語(yǔ)聽(tīng)力和口語(yǔ)都有所幫助。公開(kāi)課并不配備固定的教學(xué)大綱，而是從一開(kāi)始就通過(guò)實(shí)際應(yīng)用的語(yǔ)境學(xué)習(xí)。小測(cè)驗(yàn)和討論環(huán)節(jié)將貫穿整個(gè)課程，幫助學(xué)生檢驗(yàn)自己的理解程度并不斷練習(xí)。在每周結(jié)束時(shí)，會(huì)讓學(xué)生寫(xiě)一篇短文，講一講自己對(duì)于本周話題的感受和收獲。

Exploring English: Language and Culture

This course is for people who are learning English and who are interested in finding out more about British culture and improving their English language skills.

Starting date: 22 June 2015

The course will use short videos to present six different topics, including English as a global language, the environment, entrepreneurship and literature. Filmed in Great Britain, these videos will help you to develop your listening skills as you watch authentic examples of people speaking English.

The course does not follow a language syllabus but takes authentic English in context as its starting point. Short quizzes and discussions will help you measure your understanding and practise your English throughout the course. At the end of each topic you will be asked to describe your own feelings and experiences about that topic in a short piece of writing.

The course draws on the British Council’s expertise in online learning and will give you the opportunity to purchase a Statement of Participation.
