Recently, staff members from the State Grid Laiwu Power Supply Company conducted door-to-door services for several tanggua production workshops in Chenjialou village, Yangzhuang town, Laiwu district, Jinan city in Shandong province. They assessed the electricity needs for production, inspected the electrical production equipment for safety and ensured the reliability of electricity supply for the processing workshops.

Tanggua is a traditional candy commonly prepared by Chinese families during Spring Festival. As Spring Festival approaches and economic activities increase, various goods processing enterprises are ramping up production. The 12th lunar month is the peak season for tanggua production, and the electrified production equipment makes the traditional delicacy production more efficient, environmentally friendly and low-carbon. Consequently, there is a temporary surge in electricity consumption.

Based on the periodic characteristics of electricity demand during tanggua production, the State Grid Laiwu Power Supply Company conducted door-to-door visits, where the staff members inspected customers' electrical lines, switches, electric stoves, cold storage and other electrical facilities for safety hazards.

They identified issues like aging lines and damaged switches, provided timely guidance for rectification and ensured the safety of electricity supply for production. Simultaneously, the State Grid Laiwu Power Supply Company strengthened inspections on power supply lines and equipment related to tanggua production, conducted temperature measurements on key areas such as substation transformers and line connection points, and enhanced monitoring during peak electricity consumption periods to ensure stable power supply.

In recent years, the State Grid Laiwu Power Supply Company has accelerated the transformation and upgrading of the distribution network in key tanggua production villages like Chenjialou village. They have installed two new 250-kilovolt-ampere transformers, one new 200-kVA transformer, erected 1.2 kilometers of new 10-kilovolt lines, and 2.4 kilometers of new 400-volt low-voltage lines.

These efforts have significantly improved power supply quality and reliability, effectively safeguarding the electricity needs for tanggua manufacturers and rural economic development. The enhancement of power infrastructure, along with improved power supply services, provides robust electrical support for rural revitalization, the company said.
