With a value of 1.04 trillion yuan ($142.54 billion), Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd has become the most valuable private energy company in China, a latest report from Hurun Research Institute showed.

BYD, which was valued at 700 billion yuan, came in second place, followed by Li Auto at 300 billion yuan and PV panel maker LONGi Green Energy Technology Co at 210 billion yuan, according to the Hurun China Most Valuable Private Energy Companies 2023 list.

The ranking, released by Hurun for the first time, examines Chinese private companies with an energy-related business that accounts for more than 50 percent of their business.
