Natural wonders on display in Zhangjiajie

A magnificent sea of clouds recently attracted many visitors to Huangshi village's Wulingyuan scenic spot in Zhangjiajie, a major tourist city in Hunan province.
Awe-inspiring scenes appeared over the weekend after several days of continuous rain and evoked expressions of wonder.
In the morning, a ray of sunshine rose slowly from the east, and the morning glow sprinkled light on the mountains and forests. The white sea of clouds was like cotton, surging with the air flow, sometimes embracing peaks and forests, sometimes lingering like a dream in the mountains and valleys.
The maroon quartz sandstone peaks, green Wuling pines and blue sky are like a painting in the vast sea of clouds. The village stands atop the mountains, poetic and picturesque. A breeze blows, and the clouds drift in ever-changing waves.
Zhangjiajie reopened to the public on Friday after a local outbreak of COVID-19 was controlled. Since then, the Wulingyuan scenic spot has attracted growing numbers of people. The scenic spot has launched a series of preferential policies to attract tourists from home and abroad.
