As the novel coronavirus blocks many transportation channels, farmers in Xiakou town in Qingtongxia, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, are using online platforms such as WeChat and livestreaming to sell their products.

"Many people, including vegetable dealers, placed orders after I published photos of mushrooms on WeChat," said Mu Jinbao, 28, a farmer in Xiakou's Zhaoqu village. He has two greenhouses where he grows mushrooms.

After receiving the orders, Mu collects the fungus from his greenhouses and sends it to customers using a "green pass" certificate he obtained from town authorities.

Xiakou has issued 20 green pass certificates to ease farmers' transport challenges.

The town comprises more than 230 hectares of land planted with fruits and vegetables, according to Ma Mingsong, its Party secretary.

Amid the epidemic, some farmers also do living stream in their greenhouses to promote the sale of their products, which have made fresh vegetables popular online.
