SAR serves motherland by cultivating connections with other countries
President Xi Jinping praised Macao on Thursday for serving the needs of the motherland, using its strength to build a business cooperation platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
He made the remark while inspecting the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform Complex in Macao's Nam Van lake area.
Accompanied by Chui Sai-on, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Xi listened to a briefing about the complex and viewed a display of a variety of products from Portuguese-speaking countries.
Xi affirmed the progress made by Macao in promoting construction of the commercial and trade service platform for China and Portuguese-speaking countries since the return of Macao, saying that he was delighted that it has become a solid entity.
