Top political advisory body to hold standing committee meeting in February 2020

BEIJING - The standing committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body, will convene its 10th meeting between Feb 28 and 29 in 2020 in Beijing.
The decision was made Tuesday at the 31st chairman and vice-chairpersons' meeting of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, which was presided over by Wang Yang, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
At the Tuesday meeting, attendees studied the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference.
Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, called for careful study of the country's economic and social development to aid consultation and deliberation.
The attendees heard reports from special committees on their work, including the Committee for Handling Proposals of the CPPCC National Committee, and the Committee of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee.
The attendees also heard a report on the implementation of key proposals this year, and reviewed and approved the draft agenda and schedule of the 10th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th CPPCC National Committee.
