At the donation ceremony, Tsinghua also announced the establishment of Wu Guanzhong Art Research Fund in dedication to the studies of Wu's art and thought.

Wu Guanzhong taught at Tsinghua's architecture department for few years in the early 1950s. He was later transferred to lecturing at the central academy of arts and design, now Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University, for a decade until retirement in the late 1980s.

"No matter how many honors father received in his lifetime, his last and formal title was a professor of Tsinghua University," Wu Keyu said at the ceremony.

"I believe I've fulfilled father's wish, donating this body of works that he entrusted to me to Tsinghua University, 'for a purpose of most importance' as he said to me."
