Chinese doctors to receive internationally recognized training

"This international program helps Chinese obstetricians and gynaecologists improve their medical level, and promotes the integration of the Chinese obstetrics and gynecology industry with international standards," said Chen Dunjin, program director and doctor at the Third Affliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.
"RCOG's training program enjoys over 100 years of history. It offers standard training to obstetricians and gynaecologists, which is very important to doctors in the area.
"In China in the past, medical students became doctors right after they graduated from universities. However standardized training after graduation is of great significance.
"With this training program, doctors can come back to China and communicate their experience to their colleagues in the area," Chen added.
Trained doctors' expenses will be covered in full by RCOG, including living expenses during internships in the United Kingdom.
After passing the RCOG test, doctors will be accredited to practice medicine in all Commonwealth countries.
Yang Huixia, director of the maternity department at Peking University First Hospital, praised the program, saying that "women's health is one of the important cornerstones of the health of the whole people.
"Healthy women are critical to nurturing a healthy next generation and developing a healthy society."
