"Caishang", an application for financial knowledge sharing, was launched at a seminar in Beijing on Oct 18.

The National Financial Literacy Education Seminar was organized by China Fortune Media Group and co-hosted by Cfbond.com and the BNU Financial Literacy Education Center.

The seminar, which brought together industry supervisors, financial and educational institutions as well as university scholars and experts in knowledge sharing, discussed public financial literacy education.

Ge Wei, chairman and president of China Fortune Media Group, analyzed the state of financial literacy and expressed his wish to promote development of financial literacy education. Ge also introduced the financial knowledge sharing platform "Caishang", in an effort to improve public literacy.

The app provides various knowledge products for users including audio, video, live broadcast, games, animation and picture books. It aims to spread investment knowledge and experience, cultivate investment skills and reveal risks, inform investors of their rights, obligations and protection channels, and improve investors' investment literacy and self-protection ability.

Investors and prospective investors, students and employees at financial institutions can get financial basic knowledge, stories from the history of finance and professional training courses through the app. It connects financial institutions with investors through education.

Other experts also had their say on financial literacy. Guan Qingyou, president of Reality Institute of Advanced Finance, said knowledge consumption is upgrading as public interest is shifting from pan-financial and social hot spots to professional financial and economic knowledge. Wu Yanran, professor at Beijing Normal University, delivered a speech about his investor sentiment index designed to measure the degree of market speculation.

Securities and funds companies, publishing houses, relevant media and academic institutions also can be found on the app.
