Commercial flight movements to Macao up by 14.9% in Q1

MACAO - Commercial flight movements at the Macao International Airport increased by 14.9 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2018, the special administrative region's statistic service said here on Thursday.
Macao's airport also handled 8,801 tonnes of air cargo, up by 13.8 percent year-on-year, with inward cargo and outward cargo rising by 26.8 percent and 15.9 percent respectively, according to the latest transport and communications report issued from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
However, the gross weight of containerized cargo by land dropped by 12.1 percent year-on-year to 3,126 tonnes in the first quarter of 2018. The gross weight of seaborne containerized cargo also fell by 11.5 percent year-on-year to 38,279 tonnes in the first quarter.
