Dance drama Wing Chun captivates audience at Grand Theatre of Hong Kong Cultural Centre

Chinese dance drama Wing Chun was staged with five shows at the Grand Theatre of Hong Kong Cultural Centre from Nov 22 to 24. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

One highlight was the new theme song Wing Chun, produced, composed and sung by renowned local artist, George Lam, with lyrics by Keith Chan. Local conductor Fung Ka-hing led the local orchestra, The Symphonic Pops, in a live accompaniment. Additionally, a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Huang Danyang, also was part of the performance.

By choreographers and directors Zhou Liya and Han Zhen, the dance drama premiered in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, in December 2022 and toured nationwide in 2023 in 2024.
