Pine Tree, a modern sculpture by Shi Jinsong, was placed in the lounge for foreign leaders. The artist used bolts and screws to fix different wooden branches together, recreating this evergreen, a symbol of hospitality in China.
Several impressionistic paintings of Shanghai cityscapes also adorn the walls of the venue.
